As a makeup artist (and beauty junkie) I am always on the hunt for the latest and greatest in the beauty industry. I love finding things I’ve never used before like the Nars Multiple Stick that I only learned about recently. You can use it on your eyes, cheeks, lips and body and so I think every woman needs one in their purse. The Beauty Blender is a game changer and has made just about every “favorite things” list that I’ve created for the past three years. And then there are the classics that I always come back to like Lancome Definicils mascara that I’ve been using since middle school!
Even though I’m always researching for what’s new out there, I must confess that when it comes to MY makeup regime I tend to come back to what I’ve done for years. Of course I absolutely LOVE getting dolled up and trying new things for events or special occasions but when this busy mama only has 5 minutes to get it together I have it down and I know exactly what works!
Today I’m walking you through the exact items (and tools) that I use every single day to put together my five-minute-face!
FOUNDATION
I absolutely LOVE the MAC mineralize concealer! It gives great coverage for dark circles and doesn’t get cakey. I alternate between two colors (NC35 and NC20) and mix the two depending on how tan I am. I highly recommend having two concealers so it’s always a perfect match. Apply under eye and on your eyelid with your finger tips. Wet the Beauty Blender and squeeze out the excess water and apply the MAC studio fix powder all over your face (I alternate between NC30 and NC35). Dust bronzer on your cheekbones, forehead and on top of your nose (basically anywhere the sun would naturally hit)…Guerlain is one of the BEST bronzers out there!
EYES
Using MAC brush 227, apply a light layer of MAC eyeshadow in “Blanc Type” all over your eye from lash line to brow bone (if I’m looking particularly tired I will dust a little under my lower lash line as well). Then using MAC brush 217, I use a taupe colored shadow (this is one of my favorite pallets) and apply in the crease. Finish by lining the top lash line with Nars Eye Paint in “Mesopotamia” using an angled brow brush like this and do two coats of mascara with Lancome Definicils in “black”.
CHEEKS
MAC “Peachy Keen” blush is one of my favorite blush colors that I use on everyone and it’s the perfect “kind of pink/kind of peach” shade. I dust a little on my cheeks using MAC brush 116.
LIPS
I have really pink lips so I tend to go for a more bronzed shade for my everyday lip color. MAC “Frenzy” is perfect for that, I have used it for years and at only $16 you can afford to have one in your purse and one in your makeup bag!
I know it might seem like a lot but I promise it takes me 5 minutes(or less) and it helps me feel polished on even the busiest mornings. Most of these products can be purchased at Nordstrom (hello free shipping) so stock up and let me know what you think!
